What is LISSA?

The Library and Information Science Student Association (LISSA) is an umbrella student organization that exists to represent and support all students in the SLIS program at Simmons. Every active SLIS student is automatically a member of LISSA. All students may attend meetings, choose to run for office and/or participate in LISSA sponsored-events. Elections are held annually in December. For more information about the structure of LISSA and its organization see the LISSA Constitution and Bylaws. LISSA welcomes suggestions from the student body for programs, activities, and events!

How do I subscribe/unsubscribe from the LISSA email listserv?

Every student at SLIS is automatically subscribed to the LISSA listserv. If you're not subscribed or not receiving emails please reach out to the SLIS Student Services Center. To unsubscribe from any email listservs (including LISSA), go to your Google Groups through your Simmons email. After selecting the group that you'd like to unsubscribe from, look at the left hand side of the page and there should be a box labeled “Manage My Membership Settings.” Click on it and at the top will be a button to "Leave Group." Check out this link for more info on Google Groups.
