Royal Highland Brigade

Marching Band

The Brigade consists of brass, woodwind, percussion and color/ dance guard. It meets first/ fall semester and performs at all home football games, as well as field show tournaments, parades, and other events.

Requirements include attendance at summer classes and band camp, as well as being enrolled in another music ensemble for the full school year. The course name is “Marching Band” and will fulfill one semester of the P.E. requirement.

The Brigade meets weekly: Mondays and Tuesdays 3:00-6:00 PM, and Thursdays either 3:00 - 6:00 PM or 5:30 - 8:30 PM depending on if it's a game week. Additional rehearsals may be scheduled throughout the season, please refer to the Band Department Calendar.

Marching Brigade teaches many things, including leadership and student cooperation. It is a great way for incoming freshmen to instantly become a part of the Highlander family upon entering high school.

Academic eligibility will determine a student’s ability to participate in the Marching Brigade. If you are ineligible at the start of fall semester you will be allowed in the class but removed from certain aspects of the activity (not have a spot in the field show, etc.) Please arrange all appointments, etc. around the class schedule. If you miss the Thursday night class before a performance (for any reason) you may be asked to "sit out" at the following performance. You will still be expected to attend the performance.
