Internship (Seniors Only):
This is a great opportunity for students to get real life experience at a business that could become a future career. This program will allow students to gain a better understanding of day to day operations and decision making that businesses require of their employees. Students will get a first hand experience in helping a business succeed and will be given daily and weekly tasks to be completed by the business and the school for successful completion of the internship. Students are expected to give a presentation at the end of the semester outlining their experience through their internship. (Student must provide their own transportation)
How do you qualify?
-Students will need to fill out an application and return it to Mr. Meier for consideration and for job placement.
-Students must have no more than 5 discipline points in the previous year, a minimum of 3.25 GPA, and be on track to graduate on time.
Expectations of the Student
-Apply and be accepted for an internship.
-Pass a 2 week training at the beginning of the semester on what it takes to be a good employee.
-Attend class on all Mondays.
-Work at your internship Tuesday through Friday.
-Communicate with your teacher and mentor anytime you will be absent.
-Complete weekly journals on your time at the internship.
-Present your experience as an intern at the end of the semester to your teacher and community members.
-Dress in a professional manner at your internship at all times.
-Be respectful and mindful of your co-workers and customers.
-Students must provide their own transportation. Must go straight to the internship and back no side errands or stopping for food.
-Internships through the school are unpaid experiences.
