Career/Business Mentors will:
provide students with a glimpse of the world of work within his/her career field.
allow students to gain and practice skills that are needed in the workforce setting.
help to provide an understanding of the education and training required for the career field internship, while helping his/her intern to prepare for life as an adult.
Mentors will work with the intern to share his/her knowledge and experience so the intern can learn from them. The mentors that participate in this program should gain satisfaction from helping our students in choosing a career path. The partnership between the mentor and the school will show the intern and school community support from the business. Please take pride in knowing you are helping shape the future of your occupation with new young talent.
Mentor Expectations:
-Mentors will provide the intern with tasks to be completed.
-Mentors will evaluate the intern through an online form detailing how the intern handled situations and their effectiveness at their internship.
-Mentors will communicate with the school contact about progress the intern is making and what they need to improve.
-Internships are expected to be voluntary, but may be paid at the business’ discretion.
