Job one is to be the best SHS student you can be. Work hard in the classroom and be active beyond the classroom. At the very least, you need to earn C's or better in your core classes.
Develop a short list of schools you are considering. Research their admission requirements and step foot on campus if at all possible. (Check out the "College Research" tab in the menu above or see links on the right.)
Consider taking the SAT or ACT and/or do some online practice (Check out the "SAT" tab in the menu above or see link on the right). The SAT & ACT are rarely required any more, but many schools still make it optional and a good score can certainly work in your favor, especially if you are interested in a more selective school.
Forecast for next year’s classes that will give you the best chance for admissions. For some students this will mean challenging courses, but for others, the smartest thing will be to protect your GPA. (see link at right for forecasting documents)
Document all your achievements, honors, activities, and work/volunteer experience.
A great time for campus visits and building your resume with work or other valuable experiences. Consider doing some SAT prep. See links on the right and be sure to visit the "College Research" tab at the top of this page.
