Enroll in an umbrella school. We'd love to have you at Silverdale Homeschool!
In the state of Tennessee, homeschool families enroll in what is called an "umbrella" school. That school will report your attendance for you.
What are the benefits? Every homeschool umbrella is different. At Silverdale Homeschool, we will keep your grades, curriculum, and attendance. We will provide student and teacher ID's as well as a diploma and official transcript that will be necessary for college applications. Please see our homepage for other benefits and FAQs.
2. Complete your registration/enrollment.
Your registration secures a place at Silverdale Homeschool. We hope to build a community of families that can be supported by us and by each other! Chattanooga has a large number of homeschooling families and offers many opportunities for you to be plugged in. We are a faith-based community at Silverdale and our goal is to partner with you in friendship and love, serving you as you educate your children. We have a saying around here of "dream big"! There are many, many plans for the future and we look forward to sharing those as we grow with you!
Note: Registration deadline for the 2022-2023 school year is July 31st, 2022.
3. Submit your curriculum selections.
Once you register and the application has been accepted (which just means everything we need from you has been submitted), you will receive a digital form to turn in your curriculum selection.
4. Turn in grades and attendance.
You will be prompted via newsletter and according to the academic calendar to turn in your grades and attendance for each student in your homeschool. Grades are reported at the end of each semester.
5. Check the Academic Calendar in the dropdown menu.
The grade & attendance reporting dates are very important as we are held accountable by the state for your attendance.
Other dates to note are also listed here for your personal planning purposes.
6. Read through the Silverdale Homeschool Guidelines
Once you read through these guidelines (found on the homepage), let us know if you have any questions!
