A project to study the diversity of Berber languages
The goal of the project is to describe the range of Berber dialects, their relationships, and their locations. To do this, we have been collecting lists of Berber words from across North Africa. These are analysed to give a picture of the current degrees of similarity, and to show the historic development of Berber.
The results of this project have been published in Brill's Journal of Afroasiatic Languages and Linguistics, volume 16, issue 2 (2024).
