Hello friends! My name is Chelsie Bloom and I am your 2nd grade lead teacher!

I was born and raised in the Finger Lakes region of New York. I attended Nazareth College of Rochester to earn my bachelors degree in inclusive education and psychology with a minor in math. After college, I moved to Block Island, RI for the summer and then decided to move to Florida. 

I taught first grade in Naples, Florida for seven years and won the 2022-2023 teacher of the year! I tutored students in second and third grade as well.

Recently, I moved to Key West and started my first year here at Sigsbee Charter School. I started out the year teaching 4th grade math until the 2nd grade position became available. I am excited to finish out the school year as the Pufferfish Lead Teacher and look forward to learning and growing together in 2nd grade!

Welcome to the Pufferfish class!

I am from a tiny town in Michigan called Ubly. I earned my bachelor’s degree from Central Michigan University. I moved to Key West in April 2015 and I am proud to call this island my home. It is my second year as a support teacher for Sigsbee. Prior to this, I was running education programs for the National Park Service. I have a true passion for working with young learners. Helping each child progress in all areas of their development is a challenge that I am honored to accept daily. 

Personally, I love doing anything that involves being outdoors. My favorites are playing disc golf, fishing, and swimming. I also enjoy reading, music, and yoga. 

I am here for your child and aim to create an environment that is safe and welcoming to all.
