Something exciting is taking root
Our garden space is becoming the Discovery Garden - twelve themed learning beds, an outdoor classroom under our big oak tree, and a school-wide Garden Passport program that turns every visit into an adventure where curiosity grows.

🌳 The Discovery Tree
Our big oak becomes the heart of the garden - log seating, an outdoor classroom, and a storytime space. Future touches: a fairy door, an insect hotel, and a student-painted caterpillar trail winding through the beds.
❓ The Wonder Wall
One fence section becomes a giant outdoor curiosity board. Each month brings a new question - Why are worms important? Why do bees like purple flowers? - and students post their theories, diagrams, and discoveries.
The Garden Passport 🛂
Every student gets a Garden Passport. Complete activities during class visits - spot a pollinator, find something fuzzy, sit quietly under the Discovery Tree and record what you hear, smell, and see - and collect stamps toward three levels:
10 stamps
20 stamps
30 stamps
How You Can Help
This garden is being built by our community, for our kids. Looking for ways to dig in?
⚒️ Volunteer at a work day
Planting, painting color markers, installing signs, building beds. Watch this page and our Facebook for dates.

We'll post specific needs - soil, seeds, lumber, paint - as each phase begins.

Carpenters, gardeners, artists, and organizers all welcome.
🦅 Scout projects
The entrance sign, Wonder Wall, insect hotel, and log seating make great Eagle Scout or service projects. Reach out!
Help curiosity grow 💚
The Discovery Garden is a Sierra Hills PTC project - made possible by family volunteers, our teachers and staff, and the community organizations and grants supporting each phase.
