Who we are...
Sept Gernez (they/them/theirs) Conservation Program Manager
Since joining the WA chapter in 2016, Sept’s work has led to the halt of the largest oil terminal in North America and the world’s largest fracked gas to methanol refinery. Now they enjoy mentoring and supporting organizers, and volunteer leaders as the program manager for the chapter.
Michelle Nitardy (she/her/hers)
Chapter Chair
Mike O'Brien (he/him/his)
Chapter Chair
I have been volunteering for the Sierra Club for over 20 years and have served in multiple roles at the local, chapter and national level. The Sierra Club has enriched my life and the staff and volunteers who I've worked with and been mentored by has opened up a world of advocacy that I did not know previously.
Carter McBride (he/him/his)
Chapter Excom Member
As a newcomer to the Sierra Club community who has extensively studied and addressed the history of John Muir and the Sierra Club, my goal is to assist with and within to move our volunteers from embracing the linear history of John Muir and the Sierra Club to a better understanding of how the Sierra Club’s significant environmental presence can continually shift the natural spaces of the United States of America for the better.
*This timeline will likely change as we move through the CTI phases. We will update this section accordingly.
