Mr. Chockley--
Mr. Chockley has performed with the Illinois State University Big Red Marching Machine, Symphonic Band, Symphonic Winds, Symphony Orchestra and the ISU Horn Choir.
In his spare time he likes to cross-stitch and read.
Mr. Claudius--directs the 5th Grade, 6th Grade and Junior High Bands. Mr. Claudius earned his music education bachelor degree from Western Illinois University in 2004, Masters in Music Education in 2008, and a Masters in Educational Leadership in 2023 Prior to teaching at SID5, Mr. Claudius taught at Brown County for 6 years before leaving education for 7 years. He worked for Niemann Food Incorporated for 3 years and assisted with his wife's home daycare for 4 years while Izzy was growing up. This is his 5th year in the SID5 district.
Mr. Claudius has performed with the University of Missouri's Marching Mizzou, Symphonic Wind Ensemble, Symphonic, Concert and University bands. He has also performed with the Western Illinois University's Marching Leathernecks, Wind Ensemble, Concert Band and the University Orchestra. He has also traveled across the country and to Sydney, Australia to perform.
Mr. Claudius is married and has 3 children. Will is a freshman at Northwestern University, Matt is in 9th grade, and Izzy is in 4th grade. Mr. Claudius likes to go bowling, gardening, traveling, and doing whatever fun activities the kids are involved with. We have 2 dogs (Rhoda and Bentley), 3 cats (Caramel, Max and Felix), and 5 aquariums full of various fish. His favorite color is green.
