Dropping a Course
School Policy for Removing a Course
At times, a student may determine that a particular course is not well suited for their interests or aptitudes. Should this disconnect occur, the student is to first speak with the classroom teacher to discuss the perceived mismatches between the class and student. If this conversation does not resolve the outstanding issues, the student is to schedule an appointment with their school counselor to discuss removing ('dropping') the course from their schedule.
Current school policy states that students may remove a full-year course from their schedule 10 days after Quarter 1 grades are posted on Infinite Campus. This change may be completed without penalty. Removing a course after the 10 days, will result in a “WP” (withdrawal pass) or “WF” (withdrawal failure) appearing on the students' high school transcript.
Students may remove a half-year course from their schedule 10 days after Quarter 1 or Quarter 3 grades are posted on Infinite Campus. This change may be completed without penalty. Removing a course after the 10 days, will result in a “WP” (withdrawal pass) or “WF” (withdrawal failure) appearing on the students' high school transcript.
