A wide variety of reading materials will be utilized in order to address the Common Core Learning Standards.  Such lessons will be from the Savvas Reading Curriculum,  I-Ready Lesson Sets, modified lessons aligned to standards, leveled readers, Storyworks, novels and other reading materials featuring both fiction and non-fiction selections.  In addition, class projects and book reports that encourage reading, writing, listening and speaking will be assigned.  Academic vocabulary words will be taught and reinforced across all content areas. They will be on display on our Word Wall for the entire year and expected to be used in their writing.
