There a few different ways you can practice your orchestra music.

1) Simply just listen. It will help you get a feel for the piece and the timing. It also will help with your tracking!!

2) Use a pencil or your finger to follow every beat. Make markings in your music where needed. For rests, notes, or bowings.

3) If you are having trouble with your note names. Pull out your Essential Elements Method Book. Page 47 shows a finger chart for every string on your instrument and where it lies on the music staff.

4) If you do not feel ready to play the entire piece with the recording/video...then just follow along and "air bow"

5) Remember it is not always about playing from the beginning to the end. Pick a hard spot or your favorite spot! There is no wrong way to do this!

6) Do not hesitate to reach out to me if you have any questions about anything you are practicing....sweiss@shufsd.org

7) Let me know how you are doing....How is the practicing going??

8) Ms. Weiss is also reachable through the Remind app and my email sweiss@shufsd.org

On the Lessons Page there are Bow Hold review videos to check out. Click on the word Lessons on the top right corner of this page.

For all string instruments remember to think about use of bow and correct finger placement. The written scale can also be found in your Essential Elements book.
