Why homework?

Homework assignments are given as a way for students to practice those skills that were taught during the school day. It also fosters independence, responsibility, and organization. Students are always expected to be neat and thorough when completing any homework that is brought home.

How to help!

Having a quiet spot without distractions is imperative in completing homework.

Make sure to have appropriate supplies handy.

Set aside sufficient and consistent work times whenever possible.

Discuss the directions and expectations of each homework assignment.

Emphasize the importance of homework and allow the child to work independently and neatly.
