Mrs. Hewlett~Reading

Hello!

My name is Mrs. Hewlett, and I am your child's third~fourth~fifth grade RtI Reading teacher at Birchwood.

This is my 18th year teaching in South Huntington. This year will be my 14th year teaching reading at Birchwood Intermediate School. This past school year, I team taught third grade with Mr. Hewlett! I also taught AIS Reading and Math at Silas Wood for four years. I graduated from SUNY Stonybrook where I received my Bachelor of Science in Business Management. I completed a Dual Masters Degree in Childhood Education and Literacy Education from Long Island University-C.W. Post.

My goal is to establish a learning environment for the students, which is both stimulating and engaging. The RtI Reading classroom structure has been designed to encourage active participation and increased confidence in individual abilities.

This Google Site is designed to keep you informed about what's happening in our classroom. You will also be able to visit many of the websites we use in class on the SmartBoard, iPads and Chrome Books at home through this site as well as through your child's ClassLink dashboard.
