Community service is a non-paying job/service performed by one person or a group of people for the benefit of their community or its institutions. Students volunteer their time to help out for the betterment of the community or persons less fortunate than they are. Community service is not a requirement for graduation and service hours DO NOT COUNT TOWARDS GRADUATION.

However, participation in community activities is highly encouraged for college bound students as colleges are always looking for students who are active in their community.

Community service awards hours are accrued as follows:

100 hours = Bronze

175 hours = Silver

250 hours = Gold
