After School Jobs

Mr. Callahan has a knack for spotting after school jobs in the area as well as being contacted by several employers annually who are seeking quality students as part-time employees. Students are typically paid minimum wage for their time. However, they learn valuable life skills including workplace skills and protocols, time management, financial responsibilities, academic responsibilities, and family obligations.

In addition, students who enroll in our Whitman@Work course are eligible to earn credits towards their graduation requirements. This program is available to ALL students.

While the class itself is a half credit course, upon successfully completing the Whitman@ Work classroom course students are eligible to earn up to an additional two (2) credits of elective credit by being employed. Students must submit weekly pay stubs to verify employment. Upon accruing 150 hours of employment students receive .5 credit.

150 hours = .5 credit

300 hours = 1 credit

450 hours = 1.5 credit

600 hours = 2 credits
