Basketball is a co-ed sport that is played in P.E. , school teams and also outside leagues in South Huntington. The basics of the game ( dribbling, shooting, passing, rules ) will be demonstrated and reviewed for student learning. The unit will conclude with students taking part in the game called sideline basketball.The game will have two teams and the players are always involved in the action , even when it is not their turn on the court. The subs are what called " sideline players" and they can pass or shoot from the sideline to active players on the court. A sideline player can shoot a five point shot from the out bounds area that they are restricted in. All players will rotate from active court time to sideline players. The students enjoy playing this game and their is a three dribble max. per a possession for the individual players.
