Having earned the rank Eagle Scout in high school, I hold dear the values and skills Scouting America (then the Boy Scouts of America) has instilled in me. It is for that reason that when called upon, I became the Scoutmaster of Troop 218 (boys) right here in the Huntington area and Chartered by St. Elizabeth's church. http://www.troop218.us There are about 6 troops in the area and one (Troop 218 G) is all girls and operates independently from it's brother troop (218). If you would like to look for a local troop please see:

Why Join Scouting? What are we all about?
The recent Scouting Edge Study: A Study of Ethics and Character in America shows the profound impact Scouting has on the lives of its members:
98% of alumni agree that Scouting has positively impacted their lives, helping them develop character, confidence, and leadership skills.
Scouts and alumni are significantly more likely than their peers to volunteer, vote, and take an active role in their communities.
Alumni report learning the importance of ethics and values at an earlier age, starting these discussions with their own children nearly two years sooner than non-Scouts.
