Being a Retired Navy Master Chief, I remember the term homeport with fondness. To me, returning to this sacred place meant a return to safety as well as our family, friends, pets, things we cared about... our everyday lives. I chose to use this term for this site to represent all I hope for your child... a place where they feel all these things and can learn in a safe and secure environment.
Fall 2025 -
WELCOME BACK to another great year here at Stimson Middle School. Walking in the building this morning you may have noticed many of the walls have been painted bringing a fresh new look to the School. This is how I feel every September! Renewed & ready for a great experience with you all! LET'S GO!
Fall 2024
Greetings to all my new students and their families. I am so excited to be starting the school year on opening day for the first time since September 2021. I hope you all will be active learners. I enjoy what I do so that translates into an enjoyable experience in the classroom for most students. See you all in a few weeks!
ARCHIVE:
Winter 2023-2024:
I returned to the classroom the Monday after Thanksgiving and am just finishing up my third full week with the classes. It has been a smooth transition from Mr. Benton, the leave replacement, to myself. We will be starting the American Revolution with the Seventh Graders next week and just started World War I with the Eighth Graders yesterday. It is great to be back and I look forward to working with the students and their parents in the months to come.
Fall 2023:
I look forward to rejoining the Stimson Family later this year. I am currently on Sick Leave recovering from a shattered ankle injury sustained in July 2022 and will share my healing journey with the students upon my return. Please feel free to reach out to me if you have any concerns!
Spring 2022:
The weather is warming and the masks are optional. As we pass the 2 year mark since the pandemic closed the schools and our community I can't help but reflect on all that has changed. I look forward to quarter 4 with cautious optimism that the leaders of our world will let cooler heads prevail. We have entered a period that is eerily familiar to the events of Europe in the 1930s and 1940s and yet so technologically different to make it new in a host of different ways.
I want you all to know I will respect all views presented in class and at times play the devil's advocate in many of our discussions. Thank you for your continued support as we navigate the world of your child's middle school experience together.
Fall 2021:

We here at South Huntington are incredibly lucky to be able to live and work in such an amazing environment with amazing staff and students!
