My name is Mrs. Noreen Scileppi and I have been a Speech Language Pathologist for 33 years. I have worked at Countrywood Primary for the last 20 years. There are various ways your child can receive Speech services if they need it. One way is through the Speech Improvement Program (SIP) when your child has some sound error productions to correct. Another way is if your child has an IEP and has specific speech and language goals to work on. Most children who attend Speech come either in a group or individual or a combination 2-3 times a week. Each child has a speech notebook where they keep their work from the session. There are many other parts of communication a Speech Pathologist works on also including pragmatic language skills, vocabulary, following directions, and sentence structure.
