Steelton-Highspire School District -Grab and Go Breakfast/Lunch Program
Any child, 18 or under, who lives within SHSD’s boundaries can receive free breakfast and lunch – both meals will be given at the same time, although the breakfast being provided is for the following day.
Beginning on Monday 4/27, breakfast and lunch distribution will be reduced to Mondays and Thursdays. All children under the age of 18 who reside in Steelton or Highspire will still receive breakfast and lunch for five days. Meals can be picked up at the Steelton-Highspire Elementary School at the times listed below:
Monday 10:00-11:00 this distribution includes breakfast and lunch for Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday
Thursday 10:00-11:00 this distribution includes breakfast and lunch for Thursday and Friday

Kidz Meal Bagz is a program providing free meals to help children and families in need as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Meals will be available all day starting Thursday, April 2nd and will include a turkey sandwich, chips and a drink. To learn more and find a participating location, click here.

Emergency Food Assistance: Please call 717-233-6755 for screening, intake and to schedule an appointment for this service. Emergency Food Assistance is curb-side pick up here at our office 506 S. 29th Street, Hbg 17104 by appointment only. If you do not have transportation, you can designate and authorize someone else to pick up the assistance for you, you just need to give their name when you schedule.
