SHR's Databases for This Project:

•  American History (Facts on File)

•  World History (Facts on File)

Database Access:

• From in school: no passwords needed

• From home: you need passwords (on Password Google Doc, must be logged in to SHR Google account for permission)

Google integration!!

• For Facts on File: "Save to Drive" at top of article

• Ebsco: share arrow at top > "Google Drive"

NoodleTools integration for citation:

• For Infobase: Citation > "Export to NoodleTools

• For Ebsco: citation symbol at top (")  > "Export citation" > "Export to NoodleTootls"

Tips:

• • Select “MLA Format” when printing / saving / emailing

  • Use the DB’s suggested terms and clusters/similar subjects/narrowing tools.

    • • • • Speak the database’s language!

Searching:

• • Use "Key Words" not Question

  • Check off “full text”

  • Can you specify the kind of items you will find? (Some DBs have tabs)

Finding nothing?

• • Spelling error?

  • Search command may be too narrow (i.e., too specific)

  • Right database?

  • Try new search terms (check synonyms, etc.)
