Twice a year, once in the first semester and once in the second semester, Shrewsbury High School offers a prep class to help students prepare for the upcoming SATs.
January 9, 2023
Dear Students and Parents,
Now is a great time to prepare for the Scholastic Aptitude Test (the “SAT”). This exam
requires students to refine their skills in mathematics, critical reading, comprehension and
writing.
The Shrewsbury High School Spring SAT Prep Course will be offered during the spring
semester; participants may choose between Monday or Wednesday evening classes. The
course will run from the week of February 6th through the week of March 27th. See the
attached schedule for complete dates and times. Classes will meet remotely by Zoom for a
total of seven evening sessions. Students will complete synchronous and asynchronous
activities throughout the course. Small classes allow for a great deal of individual
attention. Students also take two full-length in person SAT exams, which provide
reinforcement for skills taught during the course and test taking experience. Enrollment is
strictly on a first-come, first-served basis; the course is open to juniors and seniors.
Our program is very special because of the quality of the instruction. Teachers provide
training that addresses skills as well as strategies useful for success on the SAT. If a student
makes a commitment to practice by doing the required homework, attending all seven
classes, and taking the practice exams, his/her scores should increase significantly.
Please Note: Students who enroll in the course will follow the same code of conduct as is
expected during the school day. Students are expected to be respectful of their peers and
teachers throughout the duration of the program.
Please send completed applications and checks made payable to “SHS SAT Prep Course” to:
Shrewsbury High School, Attn: Jen Lundsten, 64 Holden Street, Shrewsbury, MA 01545 by
Friday, January 27th. Questions can be directed to my assistant, Jen Lundsten, at
jalundsten@shrewsbury.k12.ma.us or 508-841-8810. This class will only run if there is
sufficient demand.
Sincerely,
