Sacred Heart treats students as created beings in the image and likeness of God, body, and soul. This means providing authentic formation that protects a student’s mental, emotional, and physical well-being.

Social-Emotional Learning

Sacred Heart utilizes the Socio-Emotional Learning programs Friendzy and Education in Virtue to help form and protect the mental health of its students. In these programs, students learn behaviors and life outlooks that promote a healthy mental headspace through the lens of the various virtues and sub-virtues of the Catholic Faith. Students also learn to promote better self-awareness, self-management, responsible decision-making, and social awareness through situation and scripture-based activities.

Discipline

To form and protect the emotional well-being of each child, Sacred Heart uses a Virtuous Behavior Formation(VBF) program to promote good behavior, help students avoid negative behavior, and prevent bullying within the building. VBF is a school-wide program that focuses on:

School Safe Plan

To protect students' physical well-being, Sacred Heart maintains a Safe School Plan that is reviewed annually. This plan contains daily practices and procedures to minimize the risks and threats that could affect Sacred Heart Students and staff. This plan also contains action steps for a wide variety of emergencies that could occur. Students and staff undergo monthly drills to practice fire, tornado, and various emergency situations. A copy of this plan, along with first aid and communication devices are outfitted in every classroom to help Sacred Heart staff and students be best protected in the event of an emergency. To learn particulars about the Safe School Plan, please reach out to the school’s office.
