What Is Fear?
by Eliza-Grey
As a high percentage of the population knows, fear is an emotion. Fear is usually caused by something that is dangerous, something painful, or a threat. A lot of times fear is caused by scary movies and more. There are different ways of dealing with fear. “I deal with fear by taking deep breaths and trying to be calm,” says a 5th grader named Harper.
Fear also doesn’t always have to be a bad thing.“ Fear is a normal thing to have, you can’t control it, so it can be good, or it depends on the situation.” says 5th grader Anna. Lastly, let’s see what the community thinks fear really is. “ I think it’s when you’re scared of something, meaning; fear is the same as scared, and scared is the same as fear,” says 5th grader Violet.
Those were some great opinions we heard. Now, let’s see what fear actually feels like to people. “I feel my body tightens up and I breathe heavily, and thoughts cloud up in my mind,” says 5th grader Fabi. This happens to me as well! Maybe some of you reading this article feel the same. "Fear is something that scares me, and I don’t really want it in my life,” says 5th grader Paardhavi.
Well, it was very interesting to hear what people thought about fear. I look forward to hearing more opinions on what people think fear really is.
