Atwater students are strong mathematicians and readers - they consistently outperform the state.
From the 15-16 school year through the 18-19 school year, Atwater students consistently outperformed the state on the yearly Forward exam. The amount of Atwater students scoring in the "proficient" or "advanced" range on the math portion of the exam in the 18/19 school year was 18.4% higher than the state.
And the amount of Atwater students scoring in the "proficient" or "advanced" range on the ELA portion of the exam in 2018-2019 was 13.6% higher than the state.

Atwater teachers have embraced many EL Core Practices to help student growth. By embracing each core practice, students were provided the tools and supports to be leaders in their own learning. As mathematicians, students learned to use tools within the core practices, such as learning targets and checking for self-understanding, to become strong, independent learners.
