Introduction to Sports Medicine
Credits: 2.5 (Semester)
This course is designed to introduce the profession and the historical foundations of the field of sports medicine. This course will delineate the responsibilities of the Sports Medicine Team. Various career opportunities that are in the field of sports medicine will be discussed as well as legal and ethical considerations that sports medicine professionals may be faced.
Medical Terminology
Credits: 2.5 (Semester)
This course explores the root words, suffixes, and prefixes of the vocabulary used in medical offices, hospitals, and other health settings. Students review the nervous, skeletal, cardiovascular, muscle, and other major systems of the human body, and discuss terms related to physiology, anatomy, and pathological conditions. Students learn to spell, define, and pronounce common medical terms.
