This is awarded to any player on the team who exemplifies the attributes of character, integrity, and sportsmanship.  The athlete can be of any grade level on the varsity team.  In selecting the athlete from our team, we consider the following characteristics: TEAM FOCUS- The athlete should be unselfish and committed to the overall team performance.  She should be willing to help out in any way that benefits the team and its members. ATTITUDE- The athlete should have a positive attitude  ROLE MODEL- The athlete should be a positive role model for the entire program and school. SPORTSMANSHIP- This athlete should display good sportsmanship and respect to officials and opposing teams, even in the face of adversity. Likewise, the athlete should demonstrate cooperation and respect in dealing  with her coaches and teammates. INTEGRITY- The athlete should be committed to doing what is right at all times.

This award is given by the coaching staff to a player who best demonstrates, throughout the season’s entirety, the true spirit of Blue Devil Athletics. It is an award in which the means justify the end. It is given not only for hard work and personal improvement, but for a willingness to understand and learn. This facilitates a strong partnership with coaches and teammates alike in an effort to recognize one’s full potential. This recipient puts the team before herself. This player demonstrates leadership, team spirit, and teamwork throughout the season to keep the team morale alive. She serves as a positive role model for all members of the Blue Devil Community. Most of all, this recipient has played an integral role in finding triumph over her own limitations or times of defeat.
