I find this time of year in the life of a school to be a dichotomy. We “wind down” with grand celebrations. It is a time for “goodbyes” while also welcoming new friends. We attempt to “put a bow” on one year while also preparing for the new year that lies before us.
As we end this school year, I share with you that 2nd Grade teacher, Madison Adams, has announced she will soon be moving to Maryland. I have found her to be a kind-hearted and stellar educator. We are very grateful for the three years Madison has served our community, and we wish her much happiness in all that happens next.
Associate teacher Jen Sobol has also announced that she will not be returning to Shipley in the fall. Jen has faithfully served as the “right hand” to our 4th Grade Team and this year she spent a portion of her day in Kindergarten. Jen writes, “While saying goodbye is bittersweet, I am excited for the next chapter in my life. Thank you to all of the students, families, and colleagues who have made these past eight years so special.” Thank you, Jen.
In the Back-to-School email that will be sent out tomorrow, I will share with you plans for the new year that are already in process.
Mr. B
