With 8th grade ending about a week earlier than the rest of the school, everyone is on their heels and from my observations, already feel like school is over. Many 8th graders have plans for the summer, whether that encompasses vacation or just sitting around playing video games. According to 8th grade civics teacher Mr. Sterns “this summer break for 8th graders is really their last summer of their true “childhood”.” and with about all of 8th grade scared of what will come next in high school, we still can't wait to pursue our summer plans.

I have interviewed Mr. Sterns 8th grade advisory students to see exactly what their summer plans are, and here is what they said:

8th grade Ethan Skelton was interviewed upon what his summer plans were.

Skelton said that he would “probably go see my dad. I will stay all summer. He lives in South Carolina. He has a pool so I'll probably do a lot of swimming. But there will also be some yard work.” while being relatively vague, he still says that he thinks it will be fun.

The next student interviewed was Paige Mcclelland.

Our conversation went like this: “I'm gonna prepare for high school.”

“Anything else”

“I'm gonna hang out with my best friends”

“Like who?’

At first she said “My mom” but then upon further questioning she answered “Mason, Alex, Tierstyn, and Taylor”.

“Anything special?”

“A boating trip. We're gonna go water rafting.”
