In June 2022, the garden became the far-off land of Illyria for the Senior production of Twelfth Night, featuring students from Year 7 to Sixth Form. Shakespeare's comedy tells the story of identical twins Sebastian and Viola, who are separated in a shipwreck and each presume the other to be dead. Desperate for a job, Viola dresses as a boy and calls herself Cesario in order to work for Duke Orsino, who has been uselessly pining after Lady Olivia for years. There begins a mismatched love triangle wherein Viola falls for Orsino, but Olivia has feelings for the ‘young man’ Cesario, who is really Viola in disguise. Meanwhile, Olivia’s uncle Sir Toby and his foolish friend Sir Andrew have come to visit, and decide they have had enough of her grumpy servant Malvolio. Together with the maid Maria and a pair of servants, they hatch a plan to teach him a lesson with a practical joke and a pair of yellow stockings. As if that wasn’t enough, Sebastian is also wandering around Illyria and looks identical to Cesario (Viola), confusing everyone who encounters either of the twins.
