Since 2010, the Annual Green & White Gala has served as the main fundraising event. Held once a year, the funds raised through the Gala are used to support many of the educational enhancements for Shen students. Contributions range from the cost of an individual ticket to the Gala, to a tiered sponsorship ranging from $500 to upwards of $10,000. Grants distribution and projects include:
Innovative technology purchases for numerous classrooms
Professional development for teachers
Innovative classroom furnishing as a pilot
Anti-bullying program (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports-PBIS)
Robotics team (Rocketeers)
Music and art programs
Rock walls to support our student’s physical well-being
Districtwide Random Acts of Kindness program
Support of parenting class at Cheryl’s Lodge
Jump-start of the Bountiful Backpack program
Construction of a Little Free Library for academic enrichment at Okte Elementary
The most notable and visible endeavor of the Foundation is the preservation of the bells from the various one-room classrooms that comprised the district before being centralized in what is now the Shenendehowa Central School District. Those bells are preserved in the Carillon Bell Tower located in front of High School East. The Gala has also served as the venue to recognize distinguished Shenendehowa alumni.

Access to the Shenendehowa Educational Funds can only be accessed by filling out our Grant Application. The application provides a framework with which the Foundation can assess the merits and determine the level of funding that can be made to the requesting organization/person(s). If you have any questions, please contact us.
The Foundation has worked with the District to streamline and clarify the process of evaluating grant applications. Please review the process if you have any questions. All requests MUST still fill out the Grant Application form to be considered.
