The Pig to Plate Tour was a program sponsored by the Iowa Pork Producers Association. Thirty-five members from across the state of Iowa were able to participate. Three members from the Davis-Rodgers FFA Chapter participated Quentin Slater, Cain Lorimor, and Sam Martin. This brief video will give the highlights of the conference.
This fall we had eleven members attend the National Convention. They went to Indianapolis in October. Brody Owen, Braden Knight, Carter Ruzek, Ty Rogers, George Martin, Sam Martin, Seth Hughes, Caden Mount, Quentin Slater, Monet Malone, and Evan Holmes, they all had a great time!
In this video we attended the Graves Chapel Farm Day. Many students experienced many new safety techniques as well as new technologies. We had the Fire Cadets come to teach how to use a fire extinguisher.
Fields of Opportunities
September 5, 2018
We had many people from the community come and talk about their occupations and the work that needs to be put in to be successful. Some jobs don't need a college education and just need on the job training. Students get to see what an average day in the workforce would look like.
Many activities happen within the school year. We go to contest, attend many workshops, conferences, and community service projects. This video was shown at the end of the year banquet.
Every year our chapter send around ten members to National Convention. Members get to meet people from all over the country. You get to experience many things that you have never even thought of. National FFA is a big deal in our school, we have many games for the student body to participate in. Staff and students both enjoy the dress up days and the FFA spirit throughout our school.
