Mary Hall

I am Mary Hall, and it is a true pleasure and honor to serve as the school counselor for Shelby Elementary and Wilsonville Elementary Schools in the Shelby County School District!

Education and Certifications: 

In May of 2001, I earned my B.S. in Elementary and Early Childhood Education with a Middle School Generalist Endorsement from Mississippi State University (K - 8th Grade).   I was a classroom teacher of various grade levels for many years.  In May of 2010, I earned my M.S. in School Counseling from Jacksonville State University (Grades K - 12th Grade).  In July of 2020, I completed an online course and earned my certification as a Child and Adolescent Trauma Professional (CTAP). In December of 2022, I became a National Board Certified Teacher - NBCT.

My Goal: 

I'm so passionate about my role as a school counselor.  It is my goal to provide a comprehensive counseling program that caters to the needs of ALL students.  

Professional Affiliations:

I'm a member of the  Alabama School Counseling Association (ALSCA) where I served on the governing board the as the Awards Recognition Committee - Assistant Chairman (2019 - 2020) and secretary (2021 - 2022).  Also, I have served on the ALSCA Professional Development Committee since the fall of 2018.  

Honor's and Awards:

For the last three years (2018, 2019, and 2020) I was extremely honored to receive the ALSCA RAVE (Recognition And Verification of Excellence Awards - Bronze, Silver, and Gold levels) for both of my schools. In November of 2021, I was awarded the ALCA Wilbur A. Tincher Award for Humanitarian and Caring Person by the Alabama Counseling Association during their annual statewide conference held in Birmingham, AL.  In May of 2022, I was named Shelby County School's Elementary Counselor of the Year.
