Meet the Librarian

Welcome students, parents, and visitors!

My name is Meredith Hornsby, and I am beyond thankful and thrilled to be the Library Media Specialist here at Linda Nolen. Our school is truly unique and a wonderful resource for the students of Shelby County. I love it here!

I am in my 5th year as a librarian, and my 20th (Wow! 20??) year of education. I graduated from the University of Alabama in 2005 with a bachelor's degree in elementary education. From there, I pursued my master's degree in secondary education at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina. In May of 2020, I completed my masters in library media science through the University of West Alabama's LMS program. I love to learn, and would probably be a lifetime student if it were possible. ☺️

For 15 years, I taught everything from kindergarten to 8th grade, and spent the final 5 as a mathematics instructor. My first four years as a librarian were learning experiences that I've brought with me to LNLC.

Outside of school, I love spending time with my family & friends, all things Disney, reading, writing, hiking, and all kinds of sports.
