Will your child ride a bus?

Your child's bus driver will contact you with specific information about pickup and dropoff a few days before your child begins school.  If you haven't heard from your bus driver, please email Ms. Deason at kdeason@shelbyed.org

Do you know which forms you must turn in for your child to begin school?

If in doubt, please email our school registrar at k2robinson@shelbyed.org and ask if there's any paperwork that needs to be turned in before your child can begin school.

Will your child be a car rider?

If so, please plan to bring your child to school between 7:30-7:45 each morning.  Drop off will be at the front of the school.  Please walk your child to the front and an adult will greet you and bring your child to the room.  Pickup is at 12:00 at the front of the building.  Please wait in your car (try not to block the mailbox) and an adult will bring your child to you.

How will you receive information about your child's progress?

Your child will go home every day with a communication sheet with information about your child's time in my classroom.  If your child receives speech/occupational therapy, that teacher will send home their own communication sheet.  These will be placed in your child's folder each day for you to look over and keep.  If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact the person who's name will be on those sheets.   In addition, your child's teacher, speech and language pathologist, and occupational therapist collect data on your child's progress over each grading period.  You will receive a progress report every nine weeks letting you know how your child is progressing towards their unique IEP goals.

What does the communication sheet look like?

Below is a sample of what my daily note home will look like.  If your child receives speech/occupational therapy then a similar sheet will go home with your child that is more tailored to what your child did during that time.  Each form includes an email address where you can contact the person who completed the form should any questions come up.
