Thanks to the attendees of our first Compentency Connections "unconference"!
Our event was open to educators both inside and outside Shelby.
The event was held in our Blair Center, located on the Southside Elementary School campus (Shelbyville, KY).
What was the structure of the event? The format was inspired by an unconference model. This was not a PD full of talking head lecturers or death by PowerPoint. Instead, the style was informal and invitational, regardless of the attendees' experience level with competency-based education. Four thematic tracks of CBE focus were offered, with each session slot within these strands dedicated to a specific question related to CBE work. This was an opportunity for dialogue, discussion, and creating dynamic partnerships that we hope will extend well past our meeting day.
