Virtual Workspace Design

An Intuitive Collaborative Design Tool

THE PROBLEM

Conventional design processes can fail to meet modern design requirements. Design activities can become isolated where “the designer" lead dominates the process and other participants feed information in a one-way exchange. Users of a system are also passive recipients to changes and decision made with rarely input is captured. Iterations in designs are costly affairs in terms of resource time and financially. Not getting the right input into a design leads to products and processes being developed that are not fit for purpose.

There are barriers to involving others in a design process in a truly participatory design process due to participant’s level of skill and engagement, the cost of equipment, their implementation and the general lack of accessible cooperative environments. Feedback and contributions can often be lost with conventional knowledge capture techniques.

OUR SOLUTION

Collaborative and Interactive Layout Creation

Involve key stakeholders to collaboratively create draft designs and layouts without the need for specialist CAD skills. Facilitates the two-way exchange of ideas, bridging the gap between end-users and decision makers. Improve participant engagement and immediately action meaningful contributions.

Using live digital twin data, layouts can be visualised using actual machine data in real-time.

Visualise in 1:1 Scale

Gain enhanced spatial awareness by importing concept layouts into a VR environment and walk through the layout on a 1:1 scale. Immediate feedback from participants can be captured and design changes can be actioned immediately.

Ergonomics Assessment for Human Wellbeing

Adapt layouts to improve the wellbeing of workers by reducing the risk of injuries such as musculoskeletal disorders.

In-situ ergonomics assessments of manual operations using body tracking technologies can give immediate feedback to design participants. Adjusting the design based on ergonomic feedback can reduce worker health risks.
