The Staff Race Equality Network (SREN), International Staff Network, and Religion & Belief Network are coming together to host a Food Fest celebrating culture, heritage, and community. Come along to meet colleagues from across the University and sample food that is meaningful to your fellow staff members.

We'd like to invite you to our first coffee meet up! It will be a relaxed and informal opportunity to connect with colleagues, meet fellow members, and build new connections across the network. It's also an opportunity to learn more about the network’s work and upcoming activities and for everyone to share their thoughts, ideas, and feedback. No formal agenda, just an open space to chat, connect, and enjoy a coffee together. Look out for Fang, one of our committee members who will have a sign on her table.

An interactive session from the International Staff Network as part of the National Day for Staff Networks event. Using an intercultural communication approach, this workshop involves a dynamic and interactive Story Circle activity designed to move beyond a deficit-based, assimilationist perspective within the international community. This session will provide an introductory framework for all staff (home and international) to engage in critical intercultural learning, fostering self-awareness, mutual understanding, and meaningful interaction. It positions intercultural competence as a crucial skill for everyone.

We would like to invite you to our upcoming International Staff Network (ISN) session, which offers a space for ISN members to share their experiences and feedback about the University’s International Working Policy (IWP). As the ISN Committee, we will take note of your feedback throughout this session, as they will inform our discussions with HR and other relevant teams about the IWP. So, whether you have specific feedback, general thoughts, or ideas about the policy, you are more than welcome to join in helping the ISN understand how the policy impacts the international staff at the University. 

Whilst we encourage colleagues to join us in-person if they can, we recognise that this may not be possible due to various reasons. We therefore organised this meeting as a hybrid session for those who are not able to join in-person. Online meeting link here - please save it to join the meeting.
