Am I Eligible?


Please take a few moments to read carefully through the trial eligibility criteria below to find out if you may be eligible to take part.


You may be eligible if;

✅- You STILL HAVE arm weakness as a result of a stroke that         happened between 6 months and 10 years ago


✅- You DO HAVE SOME movement of your arm, wrist, and fingers


✅- The TYPE OF STROKE that you had was ISCHAEMIC


✅- You ARE AGED 18 years and over


✅- You ARE WILLING to wear a TVNS device (earpiece, wrist sensor and stimulator), whilst you do some home based self-delivered therapy for 1-hour, 5 times a week.  This will be over a 12-week period.


✅- You ARE WILLING to attend at least 3 appointments during the 6 months of taking part in the trial.


Unfortunately, we are not able to recruit participants who;

❌- Have a pacemaker, cochlear implant or any other similar devices fitted


❌- Have previously had a haemorrhagic type of stroke

❌- Are participating in any other interventional rehabilitation research trials at present (though you may be eligible to participate in TRICEPS after your involvement in the other research trial has ended).


❌- Are currently receiving another therapy or treatment to improve arm function (though you may be eligible to participate in TRICEPS if you are happy / able to pause existing treatment for the duration of your participation in the TRICEPS trial – 6 months).


❌- Are pregnant or trying to become pregnant
