Micael is a PhD researcher in the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering at the University of Sheffield, supervised by Dr. Brant Walkley, and Prof. Ana Paula Kirchheim, and is a member of the Sustainable Materials at Sheffield (SMASH), Cements@Sheffield and Laboratory of Innovation in Eco-efficient Cements (LINCE) research teams.

Micael obtained his bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from the Federal University of Para (UFPA, 2020) in Brazil. His Master's degree in Civil Engineering was obtained from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS, 2022). His dissertation focus was on on understanding the effects of kaolinite and montmorillonite calcined clays on the sulfate balance, early age hydration and artificial pore solution of limestone calcined clays cement (LC³).

Micael's PhD project aims to examine the interactions between organic superplasticisers and inorganic cement particles in low-carbon alkali-activated cements.  This research will aid in the design of novel superplasticisers with enhanced performance. His PhD research is funded by an Energy Institute EPSRC DTP scholarship.

Micael's publications can be found on Google Scholar, ResearchGate, and through Orcid ID
