Facility Costs

From February 2021, Sheffield X-ray CT Facility requires payment for use of the Versa XRM and in-situ rigs.

There will also be the opportunity to run one short test and/or 'proof of concept' scans for future grant proposals, etc - these will be free.

We will have numerous streams of access including:

• Internal/external academic researchers where University of Sheffield staff collaborators are named on current grants/projects;

• External academic researchers where no University of Sheffield staff collaborators are named on current grants/projects;

• and commercial/industrial access.

Academic collaborative pricing

These rates are charged based on full academic collaboration, where a member of staff at the University of Sheffield is a named PI on the grant/project. It is expected that these collaborations will lead to co-authored peer reviewed publications and/or successful grant applications. All research council and other grant applications that include any Sheffield Tomography Centre time should be discussed in detail with a member of Centre staff at an early stage of grant development.

Academic external (non-collaborative) pricing

These rates are charged when an external user wishes to use the Facility, but a member of University of Sheffield staff are not named on current grants/projects. Please get in touch to discuss access and costs.

Commercial/Industrial pricing

Rates depend on individual projects - please get in touch to discuss your plans.
