This year's Faculty of Science Doctoral Showcase will be held in The Octagon on Thursday 16th April 2026.
The Showcase will be opened by Professor John Flint, Deputy Vice-President for Research. There will approximately 95 posters showcasing the research of the Faculty's second and third year PhD students from across the School of Biosciences, School of Mathematical and Physical Sciences and the School of Psychology.
The schedule of events is as follows:
12pm - 1pm - Students set up posters
1.00pm - Opening speech delivered by Professor John Flint (Deputy Vice-President for Research)
1.00pm - 4.00pm - Poster presentations
4.00pm - 4.45pm - Refreshments
4.45pm - Prize giving and closing speeches delivered by Professor Richard Rowe (Faculty Deputy Director for Research and Innovation)
5.00pm - Event close
This year the Science Graduate Showcase has been split into 3 x 1 hour slots: 1-2pm, 2-3pm, and 3-4pm.
Posters will be on display throughout the event and each presenting student has been assigned a one hour slot to stand with their poster to talk with judges and fellow peers. Judges have been assigned a one hour slot matching the students whose poster they will be viewing.

A number of external exhibitors will also be at the event to showcase their company, provide materials and answer questions.
