The seventh Round Table on Aegean Prehistory was on the theme of ,cite>The Emergence of Civilisation in celebration of the thirtieth anniversary of Colin Renfrew's book of that title, written whilst a lecturer at Sheffield. Apart from the key-note paper from Professor Renfrew, the Round Table consisted of eighteen papers presented by members of the Centre, colleagues from other British and European universities, and distinguished visitors from the USA.
