Thermography in Sheffield Cathedral

Sheffield Cathedral's roof displayed clear thermal inefficiency when inspected using infrared thermography.

The windows were also highly inefficient in terms of their insulation properties, but this is to be expected with a building of this age and nature.

Stained-glass windows are installed for their aesthetic properties, not to save money on heating.

However, we also found that doors were very leaky and remedial measures could be taken whilst still being sympathetic to the cathedral's aesthetics in these cases.
