Interprofessional education - the opportunities and challenges for PA educators - Jia Doulton
Physician Associate Education is at a critical point as the expected date for GMC regulation is in late 2024. Educators are already aligning their programmes with the new curriculum published by the Royal College of Physicians/ Faculty of Physician Associates. Within this there are clear requirements for learning about team working and collaborative practice.
• To discuss the new curriculum requirements and how these are interpreted by HEIs
• To explore ideas about how PA courses are delivering these aspects of the curriculum
• To share best practice and ideas for guidance which may be added to the new website of the PA Schools Council
Scoping Physician Associate Learning outcomes for medication safety & prescriber ready clinicians - Justine Tomlinson
This interactive workshop will encourage participants to:
i) Explore whether current curricula meets the needs of the physician associate role in practice
ii) Consider how medicines safety and prescriber readiness is taught and assessed effectively
iii) Share good practice and provide an opportunity to be involved in developing a research agenda around this topic
