Synopsis:
Five Venezuelan women, from different backgrounds and generations, draw a portrait of their https:/country as it collapses under the worst social, economic, power, and political crisis in its 200-years history. Followed in their daily lives, they testify to the urgency of the chaotic situation in which the people are plunged. They each address the difficulties they face in shortages of food, medicine, and supplies, as well as problems with political prisoners, rampant injustice, and widespread criminality. Starting with particular cases, the approach extrapolates from these to depict a global vision of the country.
From the film director (Margarita Cadenas):
"This documentary “Women of Venezuelan chaos” was born in an emergency, as a moral duty imposed to me. As a French- Venezuelan director and screenwriter, I could not remain insensitive and inactive in front of the current crisis that faces the country where I was born. A country that I once knew rich, beautiful, prosperous, and whom I see today sink more and more into chaos."
"My aim is, through five Venezuelan women, to establish and transmit an objective observation of the economic, social, political and humanitarian situation in Venezuela, the whole reigning in a political climate of asphyxia, causing a large-scale emigration and a worldwide diaspora. This film allows us to take the pulse of a population in distress, to represent a sort of barometer of the situation of this Latin American nation."
