Undergraduate Research internship

The Undergraduate Research Internship was set up by myself and a handful of other PhD students in 2019 with the express intention of providing research experience to students typically under represented in the mathematical sciences.

We managed to fund seven students in 2019. The School of Mathematics and Statistics decided to expand the scheme in 2020 as a response to Covid-19 and funded twenty students. Due to a generous grant from the Heilbronn Institute for Mathematical Research, we were able to fund six students each year for three years (2021, 2022, and 2023.)

In 2023, I secured further funding to renew this scheme for the 2023/24 cohort.
